Col. John Hermann and Command Sgt. Maj. Brian Hester took on the Army Combat Fitness Test (ACFT) alongside their Soldiers. The event took place at Camp Arifjan, Kuwait. Watch it below!https://youtu.be/Ft5I_e4yWucHow do you think they did taking the challenging test? Consequently, what do you think of the new way to measure physical fitness? The US Army states, "The Army Combat Fitness Test will better connect fitness with combat readiness for all Soldiers."However, there have been many changes to the program. The ACFT 3.0 is the next transformation of the original concept of the ACFT. The Army is determined to build on the lessons they learned from the difficult roll out of the ACFT 2.0. Particularly as the Department of Defense focuses on inclusiveness moving forward. The Army Combat Fitness Test 3.0 is scheduled to start 1 April 2021. Additionally, 3.0 will consist of six events:

  • 3-Repetition Maximum Deadlifts
  • Standing Power Throw
  • Hand-Release Push-Ups
  • Sprint-Drag-Carry
  • Leg Tuck or Plank
  • 2-Mile Run

The Army has also extended the time troops have to pass it without negative consequences. However, promotion eligibility may be impacted.Have you taken a version of the Army Combat Fitness Test? What did you think? Sound off in the comments below!
