Ladies and gentlemen, if you haven't caught one yet, the Grunt Style Air Show Majors is coming to a neighborhood near you! From the time of Leonardo DaVinci to the Wright Brothers, flight had always been a dream of mankind. That fateful day in North Carolina, the Wright Brothers plane lifted off and achieved the first powered flight. Since then the technology of our planes has grown by leaps and bounds. A plane that could only fly a few hundred yards to a plane that can cruise at supersonic speeds and basically fly backward like the F-22...my my my how times have changed.Come this weekend in Bethpage, New York on Jones Beach, there will be high flying displays of aerial prowess and precision. The Golden Knights Parachute team from the United States Army will be on display showing off the skills of some of our finest under full open canopies.
Representing the Navy (and Marine Corps, rah) will be the United States Navy Blue Angels. The sheer power and roar of the dual engines of the F/A-18 Super Hornet is pretty impressive, no matter how many times you see it.
For the fans who love a little bit of nostalgia, the B-17 Yankee Lady will be out and about as well. The B-17 is one impressive bomber to behold, during World War 2 they built 12,731 of these high flying, Nazi wrecking machines and these planes pounded the enemy into submission. You definitely won't want to miss out on this iconic piece of American history.
Lastly, there will be a display by the world premiere interceptor, representing the United States Air Force, the F-22 Raptor will show off its dazzling moves and precision aerial acrobatics. The only bummer is we don't get to see enemy jets blown away by the king of the air, the ultimate aerial predator! With Grunt Style and Air Show majors partnered up for this beautiful, patriotic display, you know you'll have a great time, be entertained and have a chance to get your hands on some Grunt Style gear at three separate locations along the Boardwalk.
