Here are the 5 Things You Need To Know for the morning of July 21st.

  1. Linkin Park lead singer, Chester Bennington, was found dead in his LA home yesterday. The date could have significance to Bennington as it would have been the 53rd birthday of friend and fellow rocker, Chris Cornell who committed suicide in May.
  2. OJ Simpson was awarded parole following a hearing yesterday. He'll likely leave the Nevada prison system in October.
  3. Ole Miss head football coach, Hugh Freeze resigned on Thursday after an investigation unveiled questionable personal conduct. Freeze was found to have made at least one call to an escort service using his University-issued cell phone.
  4. A former Miss USA contestant has been arrested on drug smuggling charges. Kia Hampton was arrested trying to smuggle marijuana into the Allen Correctional Institution. Upon arrival at the facility she was served a search warrant because investigators gathered evidence via recorded phone calls previously. She was found with nearly 3 grams of marijuana.
  5. WWE Star John Cena says his days are numbered and that he is taking on a reduced roll moving forward. Having turned 40 in April, Cena is looking to move to the next stage of his life and pass the torch to the younger generation of WWE Superstars.
