"Run Hide Fight."This was the message that Ohio State University Emergency Management sent out this morning after it was reported that an active shooter was on their campus in Columbus, Ohio.The incident is currently being widely reported on news outlets and social media.

The following tweets were sent out by OSU's emergency twitter account, advising students on where to hide, and not to call police without further information.

Buckeye Alert: Continue to shelter in place. Wait for Police officers directions. Please contact Police / 9-1-1 only if you have information

There have been some early reports that the shooter has already been neutralized by police, but there have been no confirmed reports of this from authorities thus far. So far, seven people have been taken to the hospital. No word yet on their injuries or conditions.

This story is developing; we will keep this article updated as information is released.UPDATE: Fox News has reported 8 victims have now been hospitalized. 10:10 CST - Shooter has been reported dead by authorities according to NBC4 Columbus. One victim reportedly slashed in the leg by a machete in the attack. One African-American male and a white male were brought out of a nearby parking garage and taken into custody by authorities, apparently as persons of interest in regards to the shooting. 10:15 - Watts hall students report all-clear via twitter, authorities have yet to confirm. Reports that a car in the parking garage was hitting people at random, striking a number of victims. 10:28 - Hostage negotiation teams spotted on scene. OSU Police advise students to hide and stay safe. One suspect may be still at large.10:35 - The following tweet was just released, issuing all-clear:

UPDATE 1/2 : Shelter in Place lifted. Scene is now secure. ALL classes are canceled on Columbus campus for the remainder of the day.

12:16 - It has now been reported by NBC4 that 9 people were injured in these attacks. All have now been hospitalized, but no injuries are life-threatening. OSU President Michael Drake issued a statement saying that the attack was a stabbing. The assailant drove his car into several victims, then got out and began to attack with a butcher knife. An officer arrived on the scene and shot the attacker shortly after, killing him.
