Some men are born great, others achieve greatness, and some have greatness thrust upon them...and yet others still make those previous three dudes look like bitches. One such man is Master Chief Edward Byers. The man...check that, we're not even sure if he's human or if he's trying to conceal his identity as an alien from Krypton. The truth of the matter is even if he didn't receive the Medal of Honor, he still kicked the shit out of a lot of dudes who think killing for their religion is a great idea.Let's get to the heart of the story though. The night when Edward Byers made Taliban assholes regret getting their "No Ragerts" tattoo for numerous reasons. When you kidnap Americans and aid workers, you're pretty much ensuring that you're going to get a visit from some very nice men who will certainly convince you with aggressive arguments how wrong you were for doing that dumb shit you did. The SEALs inserted under the cover of darkness because as Americans, we own the night. Unfortunately, one Taliban dude got lucky and saw them after the SEALs had hiked for four hours!Asshole.
Petty Officer 1st Class Nicolas D. Checque killed that guy as he sprinted forward into the compound, Byer right there with him. When Checque entered the compound he was shot. Not a good idea Taliban. Edward Byers was not happy about that shit and came into the room with a vengeance, killing the first Taliban he saw, then leaping onto another Taliban fighter straddling him, unsure if he was the hostage he was there to rescue.Upon adjusting his night vision optics he ascertained that the man he was sitting on was not a friendly, so that guy died. Leaping from there, Edward found Dr. Dilip Joseph and hurled himself onto him to protect him from harm. Simultaneously he pinned an insurgent to the wall by Hollywood choking the dude out, until another SEAL shot him. Byer then attempted to resuscitate Checque during the return to Bagram.
For his actions that day, he was awarded the Medal of Honor, in addition to his five Bronze Stars with the "V" device. He is one of two Medal of Honor recipients currently on active duty.
