We've got such mixed feelings about this. While the lineup is absolutely face-melting insanity, the fact that Slayer will no longer tour after this year (or so they say) marks the end of one of the most iconic American thrash metal bands of all time. Love or hate metal, you can't listen to Slayer and not appreciate the sheer ferocity and talent contained within.Dropping their first album in 1983, "Show No Mercy", Slayer has made a name for themselves by bringing brutal unapologetic lyrics, raging guitar solos and hammering drum beats to the forefront with their unique sound. Our favorite song, "Raining Blood" is a hallmark metal anthem (goes well on any workout playlist). Make no mistake they will get you pumped up and ready to kick-ass all over the place.
For those of you who are not necessarily fans of heavy metal, you can appreciate that Slayer, while harsh and unforgiving set a standard of excellence unto themselves, beholden no one else and that in and of itself is a valuable lesson we can take to heart. They were Slayer, they didn't conform, it was never even a question. They lived up to that name and reputation for more than 35 years (at the end of this tour 37 years). As Ron Swanson says, never half-ass two things, whole ass one thing. Slayer was the epitome of that statement. Where trends, fashion, and music changed, Slayer was a constant for their fans.
The lineup includes such notable names like, Lamb of God, Anthrax, Behemoth, and Testament all playing and giving tribute to one of the original big four American thrash metal bands. We're pretty excited to go and if you've never been to a concert, you're missing one hell of a show. Literally. Don't miss this opportunity to catch one of America's great music icons live and in concert.
