The 2022 release of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, claims the title as the franchise’s biggest release to date. Grossing over 1 billion dollars after only 10 days of release, it continues to entertain gamers from all walks of life.
Video games, once considered a lazy hobby and a waste of time, has transcended those stereotypes in the last several years. With the advent of professional gaming, content creators, and even college scholarships for Esports, has allowed gamers to create a lifestyle, based on a hobby.
I had the most fortunate experience to parlay from a gamer and lover of past Call of Duty games, to becoming a playable character within the game, itself!
My character, Rozlin “Roze” Helms, was introduced in July 2020, Season 4 of Modern Warfare, as playable character for both, Warzone and Multiplayer. Roze launched and was developed with several different masked outfits (called: skins, in the game). Then, in February 2022, a very different look arrived with the offering of the “Roze: Behind the Mask” bundle, featuring the “Torn Veil” skin that finally had the character’s face fully revealed. Showing the world who the mysterious operator behind all the masks were, and it was Me!
For those not familiar with the character, Roze is a mercenary, so basically a hitman (woman) for hire. With her past military history as an ex- Army Ranger, and specialized skills in small-unit tactics and close-combat engagements, she’s a highly sought after ally for restoring order.
I was absolutely honored to have been brought back for the second installment of Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2, which just released this past October 2022, and continue to portray the likeness of, Roze.
I still play Call of Duty (yes, I always play as my character) and love being part of the gaming community. A bit about me: My name is April, more publicly known as April Nicol. Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 is a first person shooter game and available on all major gaming platforms: Xbox, PlayStation, and PC. Warzone 2.0 is available to play for free, whereas the other game modes within, require purchase of the full game.
