In every great American war, African Americans have served proudly. In 1866 following the American Civil War, Congress passed an act to create six army units that would later become known as the Buffalo soldiers. To this day, this regiment which consisted of all African Americans, has left a lasting legacy that honors their enduring efforts and bravery.
