Like Clockwork: China

I found myself thinking this morning..."Sure has been a hot minute since we heard anything about the Strait of Taiwan and the South China Sea AND all the bullshit going on there." Like clockwork though, it's easy to call if you know the game and the end goal of all the players. The United States wants to ensure Taiwan stays independent of mainland China. China wants absolute control over the South China Sea and owning Taiwan will help achieve that goal.So what happened this morning? The United States sent a destroyer and a cargo ship through the hotly contested waters, showing that we will not be bullied by China, just like we have been the last year or so. What happened afterward?China got pissy. Because of course they did! I know it's pretty selfish, narcissistic and entirely biased to assume that the United States is playing the role of the "good guy" all the time, but the truth is that as bad as the United States is with our foreign policy, China and Russia and many of the belligerents we face today are guilty of having way shittier foreign policy than we are and while two wrongs don't make a right, Taiwan has the right to their independence.So we sailed some ships, and China got mad but didn't do f***all because they haven't done f***all and will continue to do f***all until they can field an adequate blue water navy to challenge ours. That will take some time. So more than likely, unless there is something we don't know (new hidden tech or ships) or China decides to get stupid...we bet we will continue to sail our ships through the Strait of Taiwan and China, while being mad, will do nothing...like clockwork.That's just kind of how the world is today and well for the foreseeable future as well.
