Boy Pushes Sister out of the Way
You don't have to be in the military to be a hero. You don't even have to be an adult. An 11 year old from South Carolina saved his younger sister on Tuesday but his act of courage cost him his life.While waiting at a bus top in Chester, South Carolina on Tuesday, La’Darious Wylie and his sister Sha’Vonta, 7, a car approached the two and La'Darious took action. He pushed his sister out of the way of the oncoming car but he was not able himself to get out of the way and he was struck.What's worse, after striking La'Darious, the car did not stop. Sha'Vonta told investigators that after she picked herself up off the ground that the car just drove off and never called for help or offered any aid of any kind.La'Darious died on Wednesday from his injuries. His mother, Elizabeth McCrorey, told The Herald newspaper that La'Darious' organs were donated so that other children might survive injuries or illnesses. Even in death, La'Darious will continue to be a hero.The driver of the hit and run vehicle has been arrested and is facing charges. The driver, Michelle Johnson, was charged with felony hit and run resulting in death, which carries up to 25 years in prison.
