There was a horrific school shooting today in Florida. Forgive me as I break the rule of writing and talk to you as the man that I am on behalf of our company. I'm not at a loss for words, but rather so many fill my mind that I don't know what to say, but I'll do my best.I can only speak to what I have experienced and this...this tragic event, has not firsthand affected me, but I can't help but mourn and grieve as the rest of us at Grunt Style do. What do we say as men and women with compassion in our hearts to the parents and relatives of the victims? In all my years, through war and natural disasters, I feel as if I still do not have the right words to speak to offer comfort. What do we say as men and women with logic who know that banning guns is not the answer? Because we know it is the evil that resides in the heart that leads others to commit such grievous acts.I wish we had better than these pithy words to offer. We wish for healing in that community, we wish that such terror never grips the heart of a child or adult. But these are just that, wishes. All we can do here is in the wake of such tragedy, ask that you find good that you can do in your community. If you're close to the affected area, donate blood, food, whatever you can, do something. If you're far and cannot do anything to meet immediate needs of those affected, go out into the world and be kind to your fellow man to honor their lives.A wise man once told me that the world is full of good people, if you can't find any, go be one. I wish that saying our thoughts and prayers are with the people in Parkland, Florida would change what happened today, it will not. I won't pretend that my advice is the end-all-be-all solution, but it's certainly better than anything else we've got at the moment. Be well, be kind.
