Gliniewicz was a 30 year veteran of the Fox Lake police force as well as a U.S. Army veteran and community figure. This loss is felt not only by his family, a wife and four children, but the entire community including those he worked with in the Police Explorer post, building the post of 30 years, teaching young men and women the techniques involved in police work. Lt. Gliniewicz had just met with the Fox Lake Mayor about his upcoming retirement at the end of September. At this time it has not been reported that this murder is connected with any of the other recent police killings. For more information and new information as it become available see NBC Chicago.
