Everyone has wondered when or if the United States and Russia would eventually get into an actual shooting war. It's a dangerous scenario which would certainly see the relatively small numbers of casualties from recent conflicts, grow to the numbers of past conflicts like Vietnam, Korea, and World War II. The two nuclear powers seem to be headed for a confrontation when it comes to the province of Idlib, Syria. The United States although involved has been relatively low key in the Syrian conflict, sticking to the priority of fighting and eradicating ISIS. Russia however, with Iran and Hezbollah, have been huge supporters of Bashar Al-Assad's tyrannical government and with their help, the dictator has almost certainly retained power in the Syrian Civil War. One province remains to be a thorn in the side of Bashar Al-Assad, that province is Idlib.Home to over three million people with half of their medical facilities not working, it is the last rebel stronghold, and it is where the two oldest nuclear powers might finally collide.Rumors and hushed voices have all but suggested that the Syrian government for some reason, believes it would be a great idea to use chemical weapons during the assault on Idlib. To us, it doesn't seem likely because doing so would almost certainly draw the ire of the entire world community. While chemical attacks earlier in the conflict were dismissed, the second outright usage of such weapons could not be ignored by the world.
Russia who has supported Assad this entire time would suddenly find itself having to defend the use of chemical weapons by its ally or risk being drawn into a war. We don't know about you guys, but Russia doesn't seem to be led by a guy who is too keen on apologizing or backtracking.Let's say Syria does use chemical weapons, Russia doesn't back down, and the world looks to the United States to provide a response. The options for both countries to avoid an all-out war with each other are quickly disappearing.Make no mistake the United States, would surely win, our naval power alone could decimate Russia, but the truth is, a lot of people would die in that war.
