Governor Ralph Northam has announced that he and his wife have tested positive for COVID-19. The Virginia Governor's Twitter states that he is asymptomatic, but his wife Pam has mild symptoms. The tweet also said the couple would self quarantine for 10 days. This being in accordance with state regulation. However, the governor says he will continue to telework remotely from the Executive Mansion.The announcement did elaborate on the possible source of the exposure. It cited an anonymous member of their official residence staff that had tested positive for coronavirus.Northam emphasized, "As I have been reminding Virginians throughout this crisis, #COVID19 is very real and very contagious. We are grateful for your thoughts and support, but the best thing you can do for us—and most importantly, for your fellow Virginians—is to take this virus seriously."[caption id="attachment_22939" align="alignnone" width="300"]

Additionally, he was fiercely opposed on his anti-gun legislation earlier this year. The governor claiming new gun laws will help keep people safe.Virginia has logged over 144,000 cases of coronavirus with over 3,136 deaths. Meanwhile, the US has recorded 7.02 million cases, with 203,000 deaths nationally.4 other governors have tested positive for coronavirus. Although, one of those governors received a false positive screening.The CDC has waffled this week on whether or not COVID-19 is airborne or not. Now claiming it is not, and the post saying it was airborne was made in error. Until this all finally passes, stay safe out there!
