Well...funny thing about the world these days. If you have the game World of Warcraft and save up enough in-game currency, i.e. gold, you can make about $20 per transaction. Whereas you can save up a shitload of Venezuelan Bolivars, and you will make like...zero dollars...ok that's not entirely true. But it's kind of true.At the time this article was being written the exchange rate in World of Warcraft (WoW) for a $20 WoW Token is 169,798 gold pieces. Meaning that 8,440 (we rounded up) gold pieces of fake-in game money, is worth about one U.S. dollar. Whereas in Venezuela one U.S. dollar is worth 68,915 Bolivars. How embarrassed must you be as a nation, that a video game, has run their economy better than your entire country? A fake fucking world realized that a free market system makes their fake currency worth more than a real-world country who loves socialism. But yeah, the free market and capitalism have failed us (major eye roll and sarcasm).Look when a make-believe world that is made up entirely of some sort of coding has a more effective monetary system than a real-world country, it's time to stop pretending that Socialism (secret or undercover Communism) is a viable form of government. It's time for Venezuela, as a country, to come together and admit that nobody should take them seriously when it comes to basically anything. The gold from the game is literally 8x more valuable than Venezuela's fiat currency. Like...DUDES AND DUDETTES HOW CAN WE TAKE VENEZUELA SERIOUSLY WHEN IT COMES TO ECONOMICS? We can't. That's the answer, we just fucking can't and shouldn't. Ever. Also, pretty sure World of Warcraft is extremely supportive of their users bearing arms and magic spells and shit. So World of Warcraft has an economy that works in the real world and they encourage people to carry weapons (in-game of course). Sounds good to us.
