Oh Virginia, what are you doing? One moment you're hating guns, the next people are allowed to fucking swear in public. Currently, if you use profanity in public you can be fined up to $250.The code of Virginia currently says "If any person profanely curses or swears or is intoxicated in public, whether such intoxication results from alcohol, narcotic drug or other intoxicant or drug of whatever nature, he shall be deemed guilty of a Class 4 misdemeanor." Apparently in Virginia, saying a curse word is similar to possession of unprescribed heavy sedatives. Honestly, that has to be fucking bullshit in some perspectives.Imagine for a moment you're in jail. The guys next to you asks "what're you in for?" Your response is "Saying fucking around Karen and she got pissed off again." It doesn't even have to be jail either.Misdemeanors, while minor, can be no joke for those looking to move onward and upward in life. Imagine applying for a prestigious school or job when they ask about doing a background check. You suddenly become very uneasy as they run said check to find your misdemeanor about a cuss word. Basically, you get a little crazy and say an expletive, some Karen or Julie gets super offended and next thing you know, your Harvard application is denied. Now you have to settle for West Point or something. This oddly reminds us of the story we wrote about Maryland and their fascination with the word "Bitch," which we wrote about, here. Maybe it's a New England thing? Do Northerners not like cursing back in the day? We know here in the South cuss words are used more frequently than commas. What do you think? Should Virginia ease up on their curse word violations? Or should they modernize their laws a touch and give their citizens a fucking break?
