"It's kabuki theater!" Comedian Jon Stewart exclaimed last week. Simultaneously, he pointed to a group of politicians holding a press conference on the steps of the Capitol Building. We were only a hundred yards away, having our own press conference. However, ours was aimed at helping Veterans. While we tried to rally support for victims of toxic exposure, a speaker amplified the grandiose, yet hollow words of the politicians speaking next to us. They lauded the importance of our military, but ignored the crowd assembled at their doorstep.[caption id="attachment_22917" align="alignnone" width="768"]

Jon Stewart

Jon Stewart Slams Lawmakers[/caption]Although, Senator Kirsten Gillibrand (D-NY), and Congressman Ruiz (D-CA) were in attendance, we couldn't help but wonder why there were not more present? Jon Stewart was there, and he's a famous actor, but military Veterans who were elected were not there. The other Capitol press conference concluded and the group of politicians walk by ours. They couldn't be bothered to stop and ask, "How can I help you?"The Co-founder of Grunt Style, attempted to address them, but they just kept walking. He then shouted about how they have us fight their wars, but fail us when we return. Still, they ignored us. Hearing this, Jon Stewart remarked how their was always money for war, but never money for the warfighter. He then encouraged people to follow the story of Burn Pits 360. This organization has spent a decade carrying this fight for Veterans.[caption id="attachment_22919" align="alignnone" width="768"]

We Want You

A storm is coming my friends. We are tired of watching our brothers and sisters die of cancers and other illnesses related to burn pits. The Capitol failed us, and now they will not acknowledge this. The wheels of progress are slow, but every day this bill does not get passed, it becomes less expensive. This is because Veterans are dying. The longer they wait, the less Veterans will be around to claim these benefits. The less voices their will be calling for justice, and to be acknowledged. When the time comes, we must be a flood. We must be a relentless voice that cannot be ignored. Stand by for follow on missions, because we are tired of not being heard.
