Well, 2016's election has come and gone. Whether the aftershock you're feeling is elation or a slow-growing dread, it's important to remember the things that bring us all together. We are one nation; it's the defining trait that makes us stand out from the rest of the world. And despite what we are made to believe, there really are some things that we can all agree on. Here are just a few:

1.) Mr. Rogers is a National Treasure

He's influenced three generations of people with calm, pleasant wisdom. He told them, as they sat in their living rooms after school, that he liked them just the way they were, that they mattered, that their voice is important. He encouraged listening, empathy, and emotional health in children all over America, and the world is better because of him.

2.) Tacos are delicious.

You know America has its real priorities sorted when #tacotrucksoneverycorner trends on twitter, and NO ONE says that this is a bad idea. Whether you prefer yours with steak, ground beef, chicken, tongue, or some other mystery meat, the beauty of the taco is that you can customize it to exactly what you want it to be. Tacos forgive and embrace all culinary tastes, and they always come out delicious. Hard or soft shell, sour cream or guacamole, this is one food that brings people together like no other.

3.) Wasps and hornets need to all die in a fire.

Bees already have that pollination thing down, they're generally not as interested in stinging you, and if they do sting, they can only do it once and then they die a few minutes later. Wasps and hornets don't have that problem; they can sting repeatedly, they hate everyone, and they typically eat and attack bees. Fire is too good for them. They must be eradicated.

4.) Christmas starts WAY too early in stores.

There are 12 days of Christmas. Count 'em. Twelve. None of those days are in October. Christmas carols before Thanksgiving should be banned from all stores. On that note, how many covers of the same 5 songs can we record before we realize that new material is desperately needed?! What's next? 5.) Bohemian Rhapsody is the greatest song of all time. Ever.
