We don't know who, but we have our suspicions on both sides that someone really wants a fight, they're just too chicken shit to come out and say it. Why are we so certain? Two more oil tankers in the Gulf of Oman have been attacked. Norwegian-owned Front Altair was hit by what many are claiming was a torpedo. The attack on the second ship Kokuka Courageous left a hole above the waterline in the tanker.Let's all get our tinfoil hats out, maybe it was us...but then again, since when have we been able to keep a secret about anything? The last great secret we were able to keep was the D-Day invasions. But...let's move on to a more likely culprit.Iran.Who would have thought that the country telling everyone it would shut down the Strait of Hormuz and that the U.S. military isn't safe in the Persian Gulf or anywhere near Iran, or the country whose proxies lobbed a rocket at the Green Zone in Baghdad, who are already catching the blame for damaging other oil tankers...who would have thought...maybe...just maybe...it was that country? We certainly don't always help with our foreign policy, but again we don't exist in a vacuum and despite the mysterious nature of these attacks...it's pretty obvious who the culprit is.But you know, tinfoil hat time...maybe that's just what they want us to think. The United States Navy had this to say about the incident.
"We are aware of the reported attack on shipping vessels in the Gulf of Oman. US Naval Forces in the region received two separate distress calls at 6:12 a.m. local (Bahrain) time and a second one at 7:00 a.m. U.S. Navy ships are in the area and are rendering assistance."
Whoever is behind this though...they want a war, they want to fight and whoever it is that really wants it...probably not going to end how they think it will end.
