Despite accusations of negligence at Ford Hood, Fort Riley is now in the spot light for soldiers dying under suspicious circumstances. The body of Nicole Grothe, 38, a warrant officer, was found in mid-July. Grothe was new to her unit, but described by peers and leadership as a “self-starter" and an "inspirational leader.” WO1 Nicole Grothe was said to love hiking, and was found on a trail that she frequented.Unfortunately, the Riley County Police Department stated her remains were discovered on the 22nd of July. Additionally, that she was identified after dental analysis, the information was only released after confirmation of the autopsy reports. The police posting of the situation was oddly brief, but can can be viewed by clicking here. Fort Riley is located in Kansas. Specifically, in the central north region, near the city of Manhattan, Kansas.[caption id="attachment_22702" align="alignnone" width="171"]

Multiple deaths at Fort Riley

In recent months, Grothe has not been the only Fort Riley solider to lose their life in unexpected ways. Although, the case of Grothe is still under investigation, the police stated no foul play is suspected. However, the other cases are still under investigation or the cause of death has not been released to the public. This is an alarming number of tragedies. Especially being at one installation.

Mysteries and deaths

Large concern has arrived over the multiple deaths and missing person reports in Fort Hood. Thus, it is possible that there will be investigations on other military bases as well. There is a reasonable suspicion that there is some type of malicious workings within the military community bringing it down this path. As reported in the Vanessa Guillén case, a fellow solider had unfortunately been the one to take her life. As investigations continue forward it is necessary to remember the values soldiers must uphold and what it means to be a decent human being. What does it mean to you to uphold the military values? Is the military doing enough to address the concerns of the public regarding these deaths and missing persons? Sound off in the comments below!
