Stories of Valor: Latrease

A current 16-year air force servicemember. Latrease was diagnosed in July 2019, she had a bilateral mastectomy, but she is now cancer-free thanks to her strong will and support from others. It was inspiring to hear how Latrease served her country proudly while battling cancer at the same time. She was fighting two battles at once, but she never backed down. The mission comes first as an airman, but everything she did was for her two sons, who were 9 and 7 at the time. Her two kids helped and supported her throughout rehabilitation. 

Now cancer-free, she believes that her faith and family helped her be strong through the entire journey. She seeks to provide the same mentorship and advice to other young females who are currently fighting cancer. She enjoys spending time with her family and is expecting a miracle baby boy in just a few weeks! We are excited for her and the arrival of her baby!
