As always, whenever the United States Navy conducts freedom of navigation exercises in the South China Sea, China gets super butthurt (we get why, they're wrong, but we get why they're butthurt) and they send a ship out to shadow ours. Well, this time, we really ratcheted up the intimidation level by sending not one, but two ships to do the little exercise. If you didn't catch our sarcasm, please understand that it was there. While two ships are certainly better than one and sending another warship is no small feat, the truth is we highly doubt China was intimidated by the presence of a mere one more ship. We could be wrong, the one more ship could have sent chills down their spine, but we doubt it.That all being said, it does signify a commitment to not be pushed around in that theatre as many of China's military personnel have been openly talking about how cool it'd be if they sunk one of our aircraft carriers. It'd be cool for them for about 5 minutes until we decided that those mofos needed to be in the stone age again. China is a rising threat, no doubt, but they can't even operate their most basic advanced technology and it seems like the training and maintaining of said equipment is getting even worse for them.So yeah, we sent two guided missile destroyers through the South China Sea this week and like always, like before and like the near future, China will more than likely continue to not do shit about it because, despite their huge leaps in technology, they are still, at least for now, hopelessly outgunned.Hats off to the crews of those ships, the USS Spruance and the USS Preble for continuing the proud traditions of the United States Navy and trolling the absolute living shit out of a foreign power who wants to act like an asshole.
