  1. NHL Star Marian Hossa will not be a part of the 101st NHL season in 2017-18. Due to a medication that he is taking for a progressive skin disease.
  2. Senate Republicans released a draft of a bill that would cut Medicaid and dismantle parts of Obamacare. It would also end the tax penalty on people who do not buy insurance among other changes.
  3. Big Papi will have a street named after him in Boston as the slugger's number 34 will be retired by the Red Sox in a ceremony on Friday.
  4. A Canadian sniper has set a new record for longest kill at 3540 meters, nearly 1100 meters further than the previous record. The bullet took more than 10 seconds to impact after the trigger pull.
  5. Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg announced a new mission statement for the online social network today. The new statement puts an emphasis on groups, clubs, and other smaller community-based groups.
