Here are the 5 Things You Need To Know for the morning of June 28th.

  1. Johnny Galecki, of 'Big Bang Theory' fame, announced today that his home has been destroyed in a wildfire in California. At this time the fire is 60% contained and officials have only confirmed that one building has been destroyed but often cannot fully access until the fire is more contained.
  2. Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro is calling the helicopter attack on the Supreme Court and a government ministry a terrorist attack by those seeking a coup against him. The helicopter fired just 15 rounds and dropped four grenades in the attack. No injuries have been reported.
  3. China has announced a new generation of naval destroyers. This follows it's first domestically built aircraft carrier, that likely won't enter service until 2020, that was launched in April.
  4. Baltimore Ravens linebacker Zach Orr is now exploring a comeback after announcing he was born with a congenital spine condition that would end his career in January. Orr received more encouraging diagnoses about his condition and may be able to return to the field without risking paralysis or death due to the condition.
  5. Mattis says, "The closer we get the more complex it gets" when talking about the situation in Syria. The US has warned Syrian President Basher Assad that if chemical weapons are used that he would "pay a very heavy price."
