Sean Smith, an information management officer with the United States Department of State, and Tyrone Woods, a former Navy SEAL turned security contractor, died in the September 11th, 2012 terror attacks on the United States Special Diplomatic Mission in Benghazi, Libya. Now, the mother of Sean Smith and the father of Tyrone Woods are suing Hillary Clinton for wrongful death and defamation.Patricia Smith and Charles Woods claim that Clinton, who was Secretary of State at the time of the Benghazi attacks, is directly responsible for their children’s deaths. They believe that her lax email server practices contributed to the deaths, and that Hillary Clinton has made defaming statements against the parents in the media.

Freedom Watch filed the lawsuit on behalf of the parents. The group touts itself as “the only political advocacy group that speaks through actions, rather than just words.” It is a conservative lobbying group based in Washington, D.C.The lawsuit claims that Clinton’s email server practices could have led to the server being hacked, and in turn this could have placed the Mission in Benghazi under threat. The suit also alleges that Mrs Clinton “negligently, recklessly and purposefully” claimed that attacks were due to a video lambasting Islam, when in fact they had been planned out by the terror group Ansar al-Sharia in advance.United States Ambassador to Libya Chris Stevens was also killed that day, along with security contractor and former Navy SEAL Glen Doherty, who was working at the Central Intelligence Agency annex and responded to the attacks.A House Republicans committee cleared Mrs. Clinton of wrongdoing earlier this year. The deaths of the four men and the circumstances surrounding their deaths were portrayed theatrically earlier this year in Michael Bay’s film 13 Hours, which largely avoided the issue of blame and did not feature Mrs Clinton at all.
