Ok, maybe it's not exactly the Church of Alexa, especially since it's being created by a former Google executive. That's beside the point. The point is that some of these tech firms toying with artificial intelligence either haven't watched any of the Terminator movies or iRobot, or they've just blatantly ignored the lessons learned. Anthony Levandowski has officially filed paperwork with the IRS to form a religion based on the idea of a Godhead AI.There is no possible way, shape or form that this could go south in the most extreme and violent fashion possible. Obviously, we're not serious. This is like when a mommy bad idea and a daddy bad idea have a bad idea baby that gets exposed to high levels of gamma radiation. They even state that their pseudo-goal is to ensure a peaceful transition of power from people to people and eventually to all of our machine overlords.

Anthony goes on to tell Techworm.net that “I would love for the machine to see us as its beloved elders that it respects and takes care of. We would want this intelligence to say, ‘Humans should still have rights, even though I’m in charge.’” Yeah, we'd like that too, but honestly, do you really think that is how things are going to pan out based on other human inventions that have gone wrong. In addition, Anthony Levandowski allegedly helped Uber steal self-driving car technology, not sure we want the guy creating a "Machine God" to be guilty of some less than savory activities...The one benefit that Anthony Levandowski throws out there is that you'd legitimately be able to talk to "God" and have "God" actually listen to you. What if "God" tells you to talk a long walk off a short pier though because it judged you to be less than (insert "xyz" of moral or social ideals)? Is the "Church of Alexa" really what we want governing our morality? In the overall scheme of things, we're pretty sure this is going to be a non-starter despite the highly influential name of Anthony Levandowski behind the project. Just because you're a "smart" guy doesn't mean every idea you have is a great one.
