Following yesterday's story, Craig Morgan's son Jerry Greer was found dead by the Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency. Jerry was involved in a tubing accident with another teen. He was found dead late Monday in Kentucky Lake, located in Humphreys County, Tennessee. A group of emergency responders had been looking for the boy since 4 P.M. Sunday. The family released a formal statement while the search was still ongoing Monday:

"Recent Dickson County High School graduate Jerry Greer, son of country music entertainer Craig Morgan and wife Karen Greer, went missing yesterday following a boating accident on Kentucky Lake in Humphreys County, Tennessee. Recovery efforts to locate him are underway. The family is grateful for everyone's support and prayers and requests privacy during this difficult time."

"It is with deep sadness that I am confirming the passing of Jerry Greer, son of country music entertainer Craig Morgan and wife Karen Greer... The Humphreys County, Tennessee Sheriff’s Department recovered his body this evening after a search that began Sunday following a boating accident on Kentucky Lake in Tennessee. A 2016 graduate of Dickson County High School, Jerry planned to play football for Marshall University in the fall."

While no cause of death has been given, it is likely due to injuries sustained while tubing. Sheriff Chris Davis told local reporters that:

"It was just as simple as hitting a wave and turning over and not coming back up."

Jerry was wearing a life jacket at the time of the accident, and it is not yet known why he was not able to surface despite this.
