Recently, the Marines at the embassy in Cameroon got a big surprise. UFC Heavyweight Champion Francis Ngannou stopped in for a visit. He posed for pictures, much to the surprise of the devil dogs on duty. Standing at 6'4" tall, and weighing over 24o pounds, he is certainly hard to miss.

The Marine Security Guard social media accounts made the following statement:

"Detachment Yaoundé, Cameroon got a surprise visit from UFC Heavyweight Champion of The World, “The Predator” Francis Ngannou.

Not only is Ngannou the reigning UFC Heavyweight Champion, he is known for being the hardest recorded puncher in UFC history. As of March 29, 2021, he is #5 in the UFC men's pound-for-pound rankings."

Ngannou was born in Batié, Cameroon, and was in the capital of Yaoundé where the American embassy is located, when the visit occurred.

Ngannou also tweeted about the purpose of his visit, saying:

"It was an honor to be received by the Chargé d’Affaires Vernelle FitzPatrick in the US Embassy in Yaoundé. We had a great talk about health and education in Cameroon and I was impressed by the work that they’ve been doing. Can’t wait to see what the future holds for us."

Despite being one of the most ferocious fighters in the UFC, Ngannou has remained humble. He proved that hard work can really change your life. Although he was born in Cameroon, he has been very vocal about his affinity for the United States. The champ tweeted his appreciation for the sacrifices of U.S. service members on Memorial Day. Saying, "Today is a day to remember and honor in America, so thank you to those who sacrificed for this great country..."
