VA Counselor Dresses as Disabled Marine for Halloween

Are there any adults in charge at the VA hospital in Phoenix? Remember that the VA hospital in Phoenix was the site of the first report of mishandled suicides? They still haven't improved over there it seems. You are not going to believe this story. Wait a second. We are talking about the VA here so yes, you probably will believe this story. Not only will you believe it, you won't be surprised by it.We have been told that the government is working hard to root out corruption and incompetence at the VA. Our question is, on what time line are these changes going to take place? Will any of today's veterans be alive to see the change or are we talking about future veterans who will see a VA where wait lists don't exist and VA executives don't enrich themselves at the expense of good patient care? Here is the story from The Washington Post:A social worker at the troubled Veterans Affairs hospital in Phoenix has been placed on leave after he wore a Halloween costume to work that appeared to mock a disabled Marine who was punished for reporting the mishandling of suicidal veterans. The social worker’s supervisor, who allegedly allowed him to wear the costume all day, also has been placed on administrative leave, officials said, while VA brings in outside investigators to sort out what happened.“In the scheme of things, this was not in good taste,” Jean Schaefer, spokeswoman for the Phoenix VA, said Wednesday of Jeremy Pottle, who came to work on Oct. 30 wearing a blond wig with blond ponytail, fake beard and fake U.S. Marine Corps tattoos, a cane and a pillow under his shirt to make it look like he had a pot belly, according to witnesses.Read the rest of the disgusting story at The Washington Post.[caption id="attachment_3097" align="alignleft" width="150"]
