Man and we thought the "Nigerian Prince" email was bad. Imagine just sitting at your desk on a normal workday and an email comes through your server that threatens to blow you up if you don't pay $20,000 to this person. These terrorists demanded that payment be made in bitcoin. I always thought bitcoin was so 2017, but apparently, it's making a comeback. Or it will be a flash in the pan like the Nook e-reader. I'm sorry to anyone that owns one. If you wanted to waste $150, you should've just wired it to me!Many cities across the nation were stricken with this plague of emails. Cities like New York City, Atlanta, Las Vegas, Orlando, Denver, and Grand Rapids had to evacuate businesses and schools over these threats. Good news, however, no devices were found.Sounds to me like someone got tired of people ignoring his royalty. Kudos though to the people who received this email and did not give into such ludicrous demands. WE DON'T NEGOTIATE WITH TERRORISTS!The New York City Police Department had this to say:“Please be advised – there is an email being circulated containing a bomb threat asking for bitcoin payment. While this email has been sent to numerous locations, searches have been conducted and NO DEVICES have been found. At this time, it appears that these threats are meant to cause disruption and/or obtain money. We’ll respond to each call regarding these emails to conduct a search but we wanted to share this information so the credibility of these threats can be assessed as likely NOT CREDIBLE."While these threats had proven no harm, whose not to say that this can turn into something. Hopefully, our law enforcement stays vigilante at this time in order to ensure the safety of our citizens. I would hate to see us back down and then a credible threat comes to fruition.Stay tuned in the coming days for updates on this situation.
