5 Inaccuracies of The Avengers: Age of Ultron

1 – The Party Scene[caption id="attachment_64" align="aligncenter" width="300"]

World War II 10th Mountain Division veteran, Charles W. Smith, center, from Plattsburgh, N.Y., salutes with others, during the singing of the National Anthem at the WWII Memorial Sunday, Oct. 13, 2013 in Washington. Four busloads of people, including 43 WWII veterans from the 10th Mountain Division, came to the WWII memorial. The memorial has been closed due to the government shutdown. (AP Photo/Alex Brandon)[/caption]This scene features most of the Avengers and a few other people having a great time at Tony Stark’s high rise. Also in attendance is a group of older Veterans from Vietnam and perhaps World War 2. Thor reluctantly gives them a swig of some powerful alcohol from his home world of Asgard. Later on we see the vets are extremely drunk. The inaccuracy here is thinking these tough old vets couldn’t handle their liquor.2 – Any scene where Banner refuses the advances of the Black Widow

Seriously? You mean to tell us there is a plain of existence where any man would refuse the Black Widow? We’re not buying it Avengers.3 – No X-Men Connection

So maybe this isn’t an inaccuracy, but with Scarlet Witch and Quick Silver being in the film, we would have loved to see more crossover and explanation of the universes colliding. We understand there are contract disputes with Sony, 20th Century Fox, and so on, but it’d be nice if they could agree on terms and just all reap the benefits. Watching them refer to the twins as “enhanced” the entire movie was idiotic.

WHATSNEW

4 – Cap’s Broken Shield

It IS possible to break Captain America’s Shield. It’s actually happened (more than once) in the comics. The trailers for Age of Ultron showed us a broken shield, but (Spoiler Alert) in the movie it’s actually only a dream sequence. So this is more of an inaccuracy of the trailer. Thanks for scaring the shit out of us!5 – Black Widow’s Power and Hawkeye’s Weakness

We’re pretty sure they are pushing Hawkeye out of the franchise, but that’s no explanation for making him the weakest Avenger by far in the film. He is wounded (pretty badly) in the opening scene and shows major signs of fatigue towards the end. But during the entire film, we see Black Widow showing almost super human abilities. She is given new batons and an energy suit that allows her to be more mobile while increasing strength, but it’s just sad to see Hawkeye played in such a way. We’re not mad but both characters have no superhuman abilities and should be played roughly the same way. It probably has to do with Hawkeye looking better in comics than he does on the big screen but it’s still a shame.[mwi-cat-listing cat="94" ppp="4" cols="4" desc="false" type="view" btn_color="black" ]
