"Life is 10% what happens to you and 90% how you react to it." Charles R. SwindollEach of us is born with a PURPOSE! No matter who tells us otherwise, we are made up of certain characteristics that define what we are set out to do in life. Finding it is the difference that creates those who will be successful and those who will not be successful.Once you find the purpose that you are made to have, the rest is history -- things begin to happen. I personally thought that I was made out to be a professional baseball player. Having pitched since the time I could remember, and when we as children started pitching from the mound, I was dead set on doing so throughout school, and as an adult. My dream was to play for the Cincinnati Reds and live close to where I had grown up. However, the years of constant throwing and using my arm more than it probably should have been used took away the dream. It wasn't until a tryout for a semi-professional team that it took me to realize I simply could not do it. Now as said before in Cut the Excuses, don't make up excuses for your failures, or for things that you want to do, but never do. This injury was simply career ending. As of today it still continues to act up. But what I am saying is that my true purpose was made clear shortly after this understanding. It was time to move on and figure out what it is that I TRULY was made for. As of now, I love inspiring others. The realization had never dawned on me until I began to visualize talking in front of people, publicly or even holding online courses to teach others.Once finding yourself and what your PURPOSE is, things will begin to gravitate toward you, such as resources, opportunities, and even people.I can recall when I first partially left my law enforcement career to pursue business, it wasn't until then, people started to come to me and ask what things they should do, how to's, and all other questions that follow -- what I had been doing and how they could do it too.Simply put, once you know your purpose you can then align activities catered to the purpose and purpose only.To help you find out your life purpose and other principals of success, I would suggest you pick up a copy of Jack Canfield's "The Success Principals."One great way to stay on track and focus on your purpose is to write down that purpose, and to keep on writing it down daily.I hope this quick and simple post has helped you in some way, and you too can start living your dream -- fulfilling your actual purpose in life and understand things sometimes change without them being up to you! Please leave a comment below or let me know any questions you have. I’d love to hear what you think!
