Have you ever met one of those super peppy, almost way too happy to be fit people? It's annoying, isn't it? That's not the only reason people avoid the "fit life" or engaging in a real lifestyle change, but it is a reason. As good as working out feels for a number of us, there are those that look at a treadmill or barbell and become overwhelmed with a sense of disgust and dread. The term lifestyle change scares the crap out of them.

lifestyle change

If you're one of those people who just can't get behind that phrase, we get it. We understand and we're going to try to present an alternate perspective so you can brush off those super peppy health crazed individuals. Those people who are way too excited about their CrossFit-vegan-yoga- lifestyle and focus on what a lifestyle change really means to you and your health. The number one thing you've got to remember is that it's YOUR health. You own it, nobody else does. If you're able to get up from your desk and consistently move more than you did a year ago, and you've been able to maintain that for this year, EXCELLENT!!!!

lifestyle change

When we talk about lifestyle change, an idea pops up in people's heads with radical changes to who they are and how they spend their free-time. That's not what it means, if it does, then we wouldn't advocate it. Your fitness or health journey shouldn't be about losing yourself to it. It should be about finding ways to get up and move a little bit more. Whether it's moving weights around a weight room, a once a week yoga class, or a crazy intense spin class, pick something that you'll stick with and do it.Let's talk about nutrition. When you hear the words lifestyle change, you're bombarded with words like saturated and unsaturated fat and carbohydrates and a ton of other words that make zero sense to you. You have no idea which one is good and which one is bad because scientists keep going back and forth saying one is good if you do this but the other is good if you do that. It can be irritating, to say the least. Let's make it simple for you. You know the obvious things that are bad for you. Fast food, soda, excess sugar right? Maybe cut down on those in moderation. Instead of having a soda every day of the week, maybe alternate with water.

Lifestyle Change

You don't have to change who you are. Making a few healthier decisions day by day and week to week can add up to a tremendous change and you won't even notice. Whatever your health or fitness journey is, remember it's yours and you can choose how to implement it. If you'd like help you can check out our Grunt Fit app dropping this New Years Day!
