Look, people generally fall into three categories when it comes to Halloween. They either love it, hate it, or are completely indifferent about it. If you're something other than that, then like don't read this because it doesn't apply to you. But here is some friendly advice from us here at American Grit regarding Halloween. For those of you that love it...HAVE AT IT. We don't care about your age or what costume you want to wear. There are some pretty obvious lines that socially, you shouldn't cross, but fuck, we're not your boss. You wanna be a slutty nurse? Go ahead. You wanna be a ghoulish demon. Awesome. Want to be a Jedi protecting the galaxy? Righteous. Wanna be an evil supervillain or a ninja, or a vampire, or whatever...seriously...go nuts and don't let anyone ruin your fun. Get all that candy and definitely don't egg the houses that give you toothbrushes or fruit instead of full-size candy bars *wink wink*. Actually we're just kidding, don't vandalize other people's private property, that's not cool man.For those of you that hate it. We get it, nothing in life is cool except being "anti-anything anyone else does for fun". Don't be that guy/gal that ruins the fun of someone else. If you wanna be a mopey douchebag on Halloween, turn off your porchlight, sit inside and wallow in your version of fun. Don't be a Debbie Downer. Nobody is hurting you by having fun of their own. be the unlikeable, unfun douchebag by yourself or with a group of other unfun douchebags. You guys take life way too seriously for knowing you don't get out of it alive. We're still not your boss, but if you ruin a kids childhood all because you hate Halloween, we wish you the inability to wear shoes, and for the ground to be made of legos.Lastly, for those of you who don't, that's your prerogative. As long as you're not trying to actively ruin anyone's fun, who are we to tell you how to live? Nobody. Exactly. So you, person who is indifferent, keep being you because indifferent people don't get involved. They eat bonbons while watching Christmas movies instead of dressing up, and that's ok too.
