The numbers of men who have earned the Medal of Honor are relatively small. Same goes for the Distinguished Service Cross/Navy Cross and a whole host of other awards recognizing the courage and valor shown on the battlefield. However, there are even fewer men who hold ever single, yes every single award for valor. James Williams holds every single award for valor that the United States can award. Every. Single. One.First and foremost for his actions during the Vietnam War, James "Willie" Williams was awarded the Medal of Honor. What did he do? We're glad you asked. James Williams was in command of a patrol boat in Vietnam, their boat came under attack from two enemy boats. He ordered his crew to return fire and smoke checked them, the other boat retreated, drawing the patrol boats into an ambush from enemy forces concealed along the river bank and even more enemy boats directing fire at his two boats.Well, what did James do after that?He fought through the ambush. That's an understatement and we apologize. While waiting for armed helicopters that he'd called in, James Williams directed his boats to absolutely go apeshit destroying sixty-five, yes, you read that right a SIX followed by a FIVE, boats between his patrol and the helicopters. Many times he exposed himself to withering enemy fire while directing fire on the enemy. Time and time again he did this through the three-hour battle.

James Williams

All of the valor. It wasn't like he was a stranger to heroics though. This sailor knew how to get the job done. Through his career, he was awarded every single award for valor, yeah every single one. Navy Cross? Check. Silver Star? Check (times two). Legion of Merit with V device? Check. Navy and Marine Corps Medal? Check (times two). Bronze Star with V device? Check (times three). Purple Heart? Check (times three). Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal with V device? Check (times two).[caption id="attachment_18316" align="alignnone" width="750"]
