Just so we're all clear. The Cold War never really ended. Much like many make the argument that there was only one World War with a brief pause in between acts, the Cold War now is like the Diet Coke of the old Cold War. Amid all the tension between the United States and Russia, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov stated that Russia knows exactly what we're going to do before we do it, in not as many words. So two things to take away from this. They're lying. Which is pretty likely. Russia has been historically known to bluff quite a bit. When the Berlin Wall came down, we found that many of their claims were pure and unadulterated hubris. They were so far behind the United States technology wise that if a legitimate war had broken out in the 80's, it would have been long, but we estimate NATO would have eventually defeated the Warsaw Pact. The Soviets were known for posturing. They're not lying. This scenario, however unlikely, isn't entirely implausible. We've been the victim of several hacks in 2015, 2016 and again in 2018. What they got, we're not exactly sure. So could they know? Possibly. Highly doubtful. Mattis has long been a proponent of being unpredictable and living up to his callsign during the Iraq invasion, Chaos Actual. Russia may think it knows our plans, but plans are always subject to change. So do tactics and objectives.

Russia Knows

The battlefield is an ever-evolving and changing environment. Knowing our plans...yeah that's horrible. We need to fix whatever vulnerabilities we have in our networks if this is actually a real thing. But also it's foolish of Russia to think that the battle plan will remain the same throughout campaigns. There is a third option. Disinformation campaign.Russia: "We know your plans."United States: "Oh yeah, you got us."Russia: "Wait why aren't you following these plans."United States: "We lied, suck it."P.S. The Russian Navy crashed into a bridge during their 'Navy Day'.
