We just can't have nice things. We get that the rest of the world may not actually like us. That's ok, we don't really like them either, but tensions are rising between the United States and Iran. Could the United States and Iran be on the brink of an actual war? We happen to think that since things have changed as far as who is in charge of the defense department and what not...this war may not go as planned for Iran.President Trump unleashed a furious twitter response to Iranian president Hassan Rouhani and the thought of another war in the Middle East becomes even more real. What provoked the harsh response by the president? Well, President Hassan Rouhani stated that war with Iran would be "The mother of all wars." Really? Really? Really? Look war sucks and we shouldn't underestimate our enemy and to be fair, supporting the Shah was not the best idea we ever had back in the day. With this new line of saber-rattling, we're just curious if anyone is going to jump. We've been so focused here on the Russia/China/North Korean drama that we haven't paid much attention to the Iran problem since May when the United States withdrew from the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action. Iran seems to be completely ignoring all rational thought here, trying to provoke a fight, which is not in their best interest.
Like the North Koreans, Iran is running low on food, the sanctions have actually been hurting them. Unfortunately for Iran, they don't really have an obvious benefactor like North Korea has in China. Certainly, some of our enemies (cough China, Russia, cough) may be privately and illegally funding and helping Iran, but nobody is outright covering for "little brother" Iran.
Take all of this and put it in a big pot that already has the tensions between U.S. Allies in the Middle East and Iran due to the Houthi Rebels, you've got a really great recipe for pushing everyone to the brink of an actual all-out war.
