No, you didn't read that wrong. There's nothing more American than junk food innovation, and this is the biggest thing to hit the market since the Luther Burger took Krispy Kreme doughnuts to the next level. The bizarre concoction of doughnut flavored soda, named "Cheerwine Kreeme," was just recently released when the pastry king hooked up with Cheerwine.

#CheerwineKreme is here! It’s Cheerwine with the flavorful hint of Krispy Kreme’s Original Glazed doughnut.

Cheerwine already has a sweet cherry flavor, but you can now also taste "the perfect hint of Krispy Kreme’s Original Glazed flavor," inside of the soda, according to a statement from Krispy Kreme.

The move is an interesting one, considering the steep decline in soft drink sales in the last year. Perhaps if people are willing to eat doughnuts, they are willing to drink them as well? This is not the first time that these companies partnered up for junk food mad science. In 2010, Krispy Kreeme released a Cheerwine flavored doughnut.Unfortunately, if you are not located in North Carolina, South Carolina, or certain parts of Georgia, you'll just have to live with regular doughnuts for the time being. However, there have been talks about releasing the product for online purchase, so that you can sample the drink from anywhere in the country.
