The South Koreans put on a fantastic display for the Olympic opening ceremony. Despite the tensions on the Korean Peninsula, both North and South Korean athletes entered last, under the Unification Flag, signifying the desire for peace and unity between to two nations and hopefully their world power supporters (China for the North, the United States for the South respectively). With a beautiful cultural display following children from South Korea's Gang-won province, the pageantry was extraordinary and dazzling.Enough on that. The opening ceremony is great and while we're supposed to be "like totally cool with everyone and junk and stuff," it's time for the United States of America to kick ass and chew bubble gum, and we haven't seen the Bubble Yum brand in quite some time.

Olympic Opening Ceremony

Look, folks, we've already told you, this year we've got some kick-ass veterans representing the good ol' U.S. of A on the world stage, and just like we do in wars, we're gonna go gangbusters! From bobsledding to figure skating and even curling (we're still not quite sure how that's a sport but...moving on). With the entrance of the American team into the stadium, we saw faces of pure grit and determination. These men and woman are here to win!We at American Grit are excited because now we can wear our patriotic silkies and drink beer while chanting "USA USA" at 3 a.m. while we watch the live feed of the Olympics so we can bring you all the latest updates. Who cares if our neighbors complain? They've tried to steal our wifi password like six times already, so they've got no room to talk. The opening ceremony was awe-inspiring and majestic, but the United States marched in like they had already won. It's not being cocky if you're actually that damn good. Which we are. Stay tuned for Olympic updates and more winning from the United States of America.
