Out of nowhere, the Jacksonville Jaguars hit this season hard! Despite falling to Tom Brady and the New England Patriots last night there is plenty of good to be said about this season and the team as a whole. This will be a season to build on. Blake Bortles had his best year yet as a quarterback in the NFL and the defense was lights out. Make no mistake about it Jacksonville, putting the vice grips on Tom Brady and the Patriots offense is no easy task and yesterday, you gave the offensive coordinator fits of rage, until the last 5 minutes of the game.Leonard Fournette and TJ Yeldon gave the New England defense, which somehow always has a way to shut down your best weapons, a run for their money as they broke off 10-15 yard runs on a variety of short passes and handoffs. Beating New England is no easy feat. You have to stay true to the tactic of keeping number twelve off the field and had there been a few more first downs, or one more touchdown, you'd be in the Super Bowl.
With a first-year feature running back, a quarterback just starting to feel his system and first-year head coach Doug Marrone (first year with Jags), we'd say this was an extremely successful year for the Jacksonville Jaguars. With all the firepower in their hands, a solid offensive line and a potent defense with key players like Myles Jack and Jalen Ramsey, Jacksonville is sure to be a heavy contender for the next few years with Doug Marrone and supporting cast. Given the youth of the team as a whole, we were impressed with the poise and ferocity with which they played. The only thing missing last night was experience. You have a young, ferocious and hungry team. Make no mistake about it, the Jacksonville Jaguars will build on this season and be as formidable, if not even more so next year.
