The platoon medic for Navy SEAL Eddie Gallagher confessed on the witness stand in real time that it was him who killed the prisoner that Eddie stands accused of killing. Special Operator 1st Class Corey Scott is the man responsible for the death of the ISIS militant (not that we're shedding any tears over the death of any ISIS militant). Scott stated that he killed the militant because he was going to die anyway "I wanted to save him from what was going to happen next to him".Corey Scott had been granted immunity for his testimony. He (Corey Scott) further elaborated that the Iraqi Emergency Response Division (IERD) had a nasty habit of committing even more heinous war crimes on ISIS prisoners. He, in his mind, was saving the man some small tidbit of dignity. He didn't want him to be raped, tortured or murdered at the hands of the brutal IERD.While some may say it doesn't change the fact. Remember this. It's war, by its very nature it's shitty. People die all the time and the small things that we can do to somewhat preserve our humanity may not seem like much to those on the outside looking in, but those small gestures of humanity, even as violent as they may seem, do exist. While this exonerates Eddie in this instance, there are still the assertions by other SEALs that he killed other civilians during the 2017 deployment. We look forward to what revelations will be forthcoming regarding the other alleged incidences, but as for now, for those who've stood on the side of Eddie, we're happy to see the truth, as far as we know, come out. Many may not believe the testimony and it does seem that the SEALs played the prosecution, but...there is also an equal chance that this has been a witch hunt and the SEALs outwitted those seeking to do harm to one of there own.The only know we'll know the real truth is the day we become omnipotent all seeing, all knowing gods and we doubt that day will come anytime soon.
