Space never ceases to amaze us. The infinite dark abyss, with scattered light from stars that may not even exist anymore, truly a magnificent spectacle. We, humanity through one man, Neil Armstrong, stepped upon a celestial body of which he was not born upon. Think of the pressure, the eyes that rest on your actions. The eyes of the enemy, the eyes of friends, those that had not the technology to even realize what we were doing as they gazed up at our moon.How far humanity has come, wherein our primitive days many worshipped the moon, but here Neil Armstrong was, walking on its face. To embark on that journey and to be forever remembered as the first human to walk on the moon.The fear of the unknown is a powerful thing, the comfort of success or the demise from failure only lie waiting in the doing of the task at hand. After the devastating tragedy of Apollo 1, wherein three of America's astronauts were killed in a horrific fire on the launch pad, there was a choice that had to be made. Face the unknown. Stand strong. Despite errors in the navigation and alarms sounding Apollo 11 landed in the Sea of Tranquility on the lunar surface July 20th, 1969. Neil Armstrong stepped out onto the surface and uttered the famous words. "One small step for a man, one giant leap for mankind."

We all have unknowns in our lives, we all see the future with uncertainty and give pause, even for a millisecond before taking the plunge. While failure could result in our demise, success could land us with a legacy that endures a millennium.
